Do you like visiting National Parks? Do you like saving money?

A good friend and I went driving the other weekend. We ended up at the Sequoia National Park. We drove through the park, and it was absolutely gorgeous. I highly recommend visiting.

Want National Parks Access for Free?

The coolest part is we were able to get in FREE! At the gate, we got the National Park Card. I have seen a lot of discussion that that the card was discontinued. Heck, even my car mate and I had a discussion, so I decided to ask. Because you know me, if you don’t ask then you never know!

How Military Families can get into the National Parks for FREE

Sure enough, the national parks card still exists and is easy to get. The ranger right at the entrance gave it to us, all we needed were our military ID cards.

We signed our name on the back and there was an area for one more person, i.e. the active duty spouse. (This could easily work the other way around too — the AD spouse gets the card and leaves room for the spouse signature).

Off we went! Easy Peasy!

The best part is we saved $20 and had a great evening/afternoon driving up the mountain.
